So scarily, my time at University has almost come to an end. I've spent 3 years here at Exeter, and have had some fantastic experiences as well as some not so great ones. On the whole, I feel proud that I can say I've throughly enjoyed Uni and have gotten the most out of it that I possibly could. My advice to anyone thinking about going to Uni would be to just go for it. Not only will you make friends for life, but you will learn so much about yourself, corny as that sounds.
However, the time has come for a season of graduation ceremonies and various parties and balls to celebrate our release into the big, bad world. Eek. And as every girl knows, landmark celebrations deserve a special dress. But finding that dress and remaining within the University's 'guidelines' for graduation day attire is proving to be a bit difficult. The Uni website says that girls should wear a dark skirt and white blouse on the day. I'm not going to follow this guideline religiously, because as I'm going to have to look at these photos for the rest of my life, I want to look relatively attractive in them. This means compromising with a dress, as I'm not really a sensible shoes and 'blouse' type of girl. So my criteria for my graduation dress must be:
- Appropriate (length and cleavage wise)
- Non-garish colour (I generally go for blue, navy, white or black)
- Classic (I don't want to look back at a trend monstrosity in 20 years time)
- Feminine
Having trawled through ASOS, Reiss, All Saints, Oasis, Warehouse, Karen Millen and Whistles, I've made a shortlist on my quest for the perfect grad dress. So far we have:
Wish me luck in my search, and I'll update you with pictures of my final choice...if I ever pick one!!
