Bumble and Bumble.

I love haircare products. Like most girls, my hair is my security and my comfort blanket. Although I love my hair to look finished and sleek, it needs to maintain versatility as I change my style so often, and I don't have time to keep running to the nearest mirror to sort out the mane. So Sephora haircare section was a treasure trove of delights for me. 

Bumble & Bumble is a New York based brand famous for its flexibility of styles. From beachy waves to poker straight locks, all the styles have a laid-back, cool edge. The packaging and bottles are simple, modern and functional, with a fun 'vibe'. Although used in salons, the brand seems to have a more user friendly touch, and mostly does what it says on the tin without pretentiousness or exaggerated claims.

I'd heard of Bb. before and I've wanted to try out a couple of products for a while. So in Times Square Sephora I picked up a small, travel sized version of their Shine On Finishing Spray, and spritzed. My hair was shinier looking, and it felt easier to run my hands through my mane and create a style. So I bought the mini version for only $15, and went home to try. It is one of Instyle Magazine's Best Beauty Buys of 2012, what did I have to lose? 

After washing, blowdrying and straightening I misted the product lightly onto my hair, and lo and behold, there was instant shine. My hair felt bouncier and stayed in position too. I even recommended it to my Mum, who promptly went out and bought the full sized one. However, be careful not to put too much on or hair will become greasy and overloaded. I have a particular problem when it comes to hair products - I have very thick hair, but it is also very dry from all the heat styling I do. So, the product has to control the frizz without weighing it down. I found this product delivers this result on my hair if used very sparingly, although everyone's hair is different. I probably wouldn't buy the full sized version only because I need so little of the product to style my hair I doubt I'll run out any time soon!

A good investment for those seeking shiny, controlled hair though, and it may even join the ranks of the cult Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray sometime soon.
