'What's In My Handbag' is a new online beauty initiative that allows members to view the contents of the handbags of various designers/personalities in the beauty world. Not only does this provide a fascinating weekly peek into the beauty secrets of pioneers of cosmetics, allowing us to indulge in seeing how the other half spend, but if you register to 'try' you too can experience a little bit of luxury. You provide your email and your home or work address and fill in a beauty profile, then wait to potentially be picked to receive a sample of the product - for free. Even better, if you're not picked to trial the product you receive a special offer from the brand anyway.

So far so good? Yup.

When you sneak a peek at the prestigious handbags on show, you can also 'Shop the Bag' and buy the products, read a bio of the beauty personality and select 'Have This' or 'Want This' on particular items which are then added to your virtual 'Beauty Cabinet'.

Following so far?

It's a little complicated, but think of it as a glorified, beauty version of Flickr or Tumblr. Beauty insiders share the contents of their handbags, you can select the tagged products and add them to a virtual beauty cabinet. You register to try a new product every week, and they pick you based on the contents of your 'Beauty Cabinet' and your beauty profile. So basically, the chance of a free sample of something you know you're going to love in the post. For people craving all things beauty, it's like an exclusive take-away service. Yum. 

I've signed up for the Citron Citron Eau De Parfum by Miller Harris this month. Can't wait to see if I've been picked!

The last one has to be my absolute fave. MAC lipsticks and glitter pigment, Llamasque eyeshadow, Bumble & Bumble product, OPI nails, pastel headphones, Vaseline, Bobbi Brown. Drool.

Doesn't help that I love Tatty Devine.
