Not just any bag, but the cult Longchamp 'Le Pliage' bag. These French beauties have become iconic handbags and travel bags alike: on the plane back to London (they're perfect hand baggage size) my bag had at least five other twins, in every colour of the rainbow. 'Le Pliage' is the ultimate Parisian go-to bag, probably coming in second only to the Vanessa Bruno sequin trimmed tote bag, one of which it illegal not to own in Paris (everyone has one). Longchamp's 'Le Pliage' is so much more than a sequined shopping bag. The name is the French for 'folding' and the design that allows the bag to do just this is based on Japanese origami. It comes in a variety of colours, from shocking fuchsia pink to classic black, and each bag has a beautiful tan leather handle featuring the running horse logo. The Parisian fashion house has recently collaborated with designer of the moment Mary Katranzou (Grecian print goddess who worked with Topshop in February 2012), and for SS2012 allows customers to customise the colour combinations and sizes of their bags, with optional monogramming.
What made the bag irresistible for me though was the bright turquoise colour. My other handbags are sensible black or brown leather, and I needed a pop of brightness to cheer up the rainy Parisian skies. Oh, and the fact that the large 'Le Pliage' was 75 Euros in Paris (£60) - and in Selfridges it sells for £72.
You know, just sayin'.
